Welcome to Docora. By downloading, installing, or using our desktop application, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully before using the software.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Docora ("the Software"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Software.

We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes through the application or via email. Your continued use of Docora after such changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

2. License Grant

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and use Docora on devices you own or control, solely for your personal or internal business purposes.

Free Tier

The free version of Docora may be used indefinitely, subject to the feature limitations described on our website (up to 500 indexed files, 50 searches per month, PDF and Word documents only, 7-day conversation history).

Pro Subscription

The Pro version requires an active subscription at $9/month. Your subscription will automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You may cancel at any time through your account settings.

3. Restrictions

You agree not to:

  • Copy, modify, or distribute the Software or any part thereof
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software
  • Rent, lease, loan, or sublicense the Software to third parties
  • Use the Software for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
  • Remove or alter any proprietary notices, labels, or marks on the Software
  • Attempt to circumvent any usage limitations or access controls

4. Disclaimers

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Software will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. Search results are provided for informational purposes only and should not be relied upon as a substitute for professional advice.

While we strive to provide accurate semantic search results, we make no guarantees about the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any information retrieved through the Software.

5. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL DOCORA, ITS AFFILIATES, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH:

  • Your use or inability to use the Software
  • Any errors or inaccuracies in search results or content
  • Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data stored locally
  • Any third-party conduct or content

Our total liability for any claims arising from or related to these Terms or your use of the Software shall not exceed the amount you paid us, if any, during the twelve (12) months prior to the claim.

6. Your Data

Docora processes your documents entirely on your local machine. You retain all rights to your documents and data. We do not claim any ownership rights over your content.

You are solely responsible for maintaining backups of your documents and the locally stored search index. We are not responsible for any loss of data stored on your device.

7. Termination

You may stop using Docora at any time by uninstalling the Software. If you have a Pro subscription, you should cancel your subscription through your account settings before uninstalling to avoid future charges.

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Software immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Software will immediately cease.

Sections 3-5 (Restrictions, Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability) shall survive any termination of these Terms.

8. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts located in the United States.
